An original screenplay by Skot Leach, High School Confessional is a very smart, dark comedy in the vein of such hits as Rushmore and Election.

High School introvert Joshua Case knows that if he had any balls at all, he’d be crazy. His school counselor wants him to set some goals, his English teacher is demanding a 20,000 word autobiographical essay and his principal has a personal vendetta against him; all of which is compounded by a bad case of irritable bowel syndrome and the constant struggle to try to be cool with the ladies. When yet one more suspension mars Joshua’s permanent record and the principal threatens to call off the homecoming dance, Joshua has an epiphany and realizes that if you just start doing crazy stuff, you feel totally alive! Now it’s homecoming and it’s time for Joshua’s greatest moment. This is all the years of oppression, angst and hormones manifesting itself in one single, perfect, unforgettable…catastrophe.
