What if the future of our society were at risk and nobody was aware?

What if there were an attack on our culture and the enemy remained hidden? And what if the truth were so unbelievable that even when confronted with the facts, most people would disregard them?

What if we found six brilliant students at two of America’s top universities, and got them to research the subject matter?

What if we presented the students with the challenge of discovering who or what is behind the current cultural decline, gave them a time limit in which to do their research, and provided them with camera equipment in order to document their progress and create a short visual presentation of their findings?

And what if we had a camera crew to interview them and document their experiences over the two-week time limit?

Documentary filmmaking will take a different spin when six dedicated, inquisitive students decide to tackle the reality of what is really going on in this society, peeling away layers of false information and social veneer to expose the truth. They will in essence become documentary makers themselves, and we will document them as they progress.

After an American Idol type selection process (which we will film), we will announce our selected candidates, chosen for their intelligence, integrity, ability to communicate and their film ability. Our students are going to be on camera as they do their research and make their discoveries so they should be interesting to watch. We want the audience to be engaged in their mission, as well as engaged in the students themselves.

This documentary will be as exciting as a murder-mystery as the students delve deeper and deeper into the harsh reality of what has really been going on in our society. Is there a body? Where is the smoking gun? Who pulled the trigger?

By the end of the documentary, people should be appalled at the state of things and panting to know what conclusions the students have come to. How is it possible that all of this escaped their notice? The audience will see hard evidence of the actual decline in our society – the real story of illiteracy, immorality, criminality, drug abuse, and the drugging of children with psychiatric drugs.

How did all this come about? What was it that changed in our society that derailed our youth and created a vicious decline in standards since the 60’s? Or did it start before?

Who is endangering the future of every man, woman and child on this planet? Is it the politicians, the drug companies, international bankers, or big corporations? Or is there some other force at work here?

Who if anyone, is responsible for soaring drug abuse and crime statistics? How come illiteracy rates are on the increase? Who is dumbing down our children in our public schools? What has happened to the family unit? Why do fewer and fewer people go to church? Why are more and more families suffering from economic duress?

If the real answers to these questions seem unbelievable, then when two groups of smart, likeable, unbiased students come up with evidence, people will sit up and take notice. Of course, we do not know what the students will unearth. Will they find the body and the smoking gun or will they pass them by? The students may all come up with different answers – they may disagree amongst themselves – we don’t know exactly what will happen, except that we will capture all their research and discussions on camera. There may be fights and disagreements; there may also be a team spirit and a unity of purpose. Whatever happens, the end result will be a fascinating look at some of society’s most pressing problems and how tomorrow’s leaders are going to cope with them.

We will see the students present their findings in a round table fashion, and at the end of the presentation, we will throw the floor open to discussion.

We will have captured a genuine investigation into today’s problems, and a wide variety of points of view. Whatever the final conclusions, we will have a good idea of how a group of students see life, and what responsibility they are going to take for society.
