Big Bad Bugamites is the first in a series of animated adventure stories based on the popular children’s books, The Wizard Tells a Story, by author illustrator Scott E. Sutton. The story takes place on a far away planet called Ree: a world of Wizards and Dragons, Talking Trees and other fantastic creatures.

In Big Bad Bugamites, the Head Wizard of Ree, Wizard Dundee, and his young assistant Jeeter discover a mysterious threat in the form of voracious alien creatures called Bugamites, who are devouring all the foliage on the planet.

In a race against time, Jeeter and his friends, Feejee and Beeboe, must journey through the wilds of Ree to the snow world of an estranged Wizard named Blizzard to enlist his help. Along the way the three friends meet many of the fantastic inhabitants of Ree and learn the value of courage and commitment. But the most important lesson they learn is that you should always try to treat others the way you would want them to treat you.

How Jeeter eventually saves Ree from the marauding Bugamites is a classic tale of adventure and redemption, reminiscent of The Little Prince. Lush animation translates the illustrated beauty of the books into film, giving the video a rich vibrancy of color and texture.

Big Bad Bugamites stars Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson, as Jeeter. Renowned character actor, Geoffrey Lewis, and other top animation voices make the characters come alive and give an emotional urgency to the story. But it is Jeeter’s journey of discovery and adventure that will resonate with young viewers, and leave them with the positive messages intrinsic to the story.
